Hello my name is

It’s so nice to meet you! Thank you for visiting The Youthful.  Here at my online lifestyle “magazine”, you’re always welcome.  So grab a cup of tea and enjoy life with me.

The Story Behind the Name

My name means “youthful.” It seems to suit me. While I’ve matured and grown wiser through the years, I am still very much a kid at heart. If I get hurt, chances are I will cry. Singing and dancing throughout my apartment is a regular occurrence for me. However, The Youthful represents more than just the meaning of my name. It represents a philosophy of living. As far as I’m concerned, youth is not bound to a certain age. My goal is to never lose my young, joyful spirit and I’m inviting you to join me.

Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

About Me

I am a dreamer. My imagination is always at play. A green tea enthusiast, homemaker, cook, nature girl, fashion lover, traveler, I am most importantly a Christ follower. I strive to exude the love of Jesus. I am an online ESL teacher to children in China–a truly enriching experience.

I’m married to my other half, Billy Brown. He’s the Gilbert Blythe to my Anne Shirley.  (I am an Anne of Green Gables lover, so just warning you now.) He captured my heart one summer, we fell in love, and God has been writing our beautiful love story ever since. I literally love him more every morning I wake up. Our motto from the very beginning has always been “beauty in simplicity.” I believe that is one of the key ingredients in our beautiful love.

  1. Nice to meet you Julia 😀,
I’m a red head with a love of Anne Shirley too. Years ago when the movie came out my sister and I watched it repeatedly (she was in kindergarten at the time). One day at school they were talking about emotions and the teacher asked the class what it meant to be sad. My sister immediately raised her hand and said “It means you are in the depths of despair”. It startled the teacher so much she called my Mom. My mom laughed and said we had been watching Anne of Green Gables.
I look forward to getting to know you better!!
